Keith Wyatt has been performing and teaching guitar professionally for over four decades. After arriving in Los Angeles in 1977, he played with a variety of artists before joining renowned “American Music” band The Blasters in 1996, subsequently recording the albums 4-11-44 and Fun on Saturday Night and touring regularly across the US and Europe. From 1978-2014 he was a staff instructor at Musicians Institute in Hollywood, where he also developed curriculum, directed its world-famous guitar program (GIT), and served as the college’s Vice President of Programs. 

 

As an author, his books on contemporary music and guitar include the MI Press/Hal Leonard publications Blues Guitar Soloing, Blues Rhythm Guitar, Harmony and Theory: the Essential Guide (with Carl Schroeder), and Ear Training for the Contemporary Musician (with Carl Schroeder and Joe Elliott)

 

He has released over a dozen full-length best-selling instructional videos on various guitar styles and techniques, and for over twenty years his columns and articles have been regularly featured in magazines including Guitar Player and Guitar World. Most recently, in 2014 he developed the School of Blues Guitar for web-based interactive education innovators ArtistWorks.
